How high... (CIC273)

can you wish? :)

It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations challenge!

We are sponsored this week by
Doodle Pantry is generously providing a prize of a $10 coupon to our randomly chosen winner.

Thank you for sponsoring the challenge!

Each challenge, we give you an inspiration cupcake and you make a card or other craft project that is inspired by the cupcake.  Here is this week's cupcake (linked to original source):

I used Balloon Ants. Aren't they adorable? I think this makes the perfect birthday card for a youngster. We have lots of birthdays in August so I need lots of birthday cards on hand.

I started with vellum and cut it out with my Nestabilities oval dies. The first oval I cut, I took my cloud handheld punches and created 'holes' in the oval. But I didn't like that much so I redid it using plan white, Swiss Dot embossed clouds. Then I popped the whole thing up on dimensionals and layered it on a DCWV's Sunday Afternoon pattern paper oval I attached to the front of my card. Last, I rounded two of my corners.

On the inside, I used more of the sentiments that came with my image and cut them out using my Nestabilities circle dies. I tacked the clouds I cut from the original oval circle (that I didn't use) underneath to give the impression of floating.

I really like how it came out. :)

It's time for another Sister Act ANYTHING GOES challenge! Come on over and join us. :)

Isn't this the cutest? I love this set from Lil Inker designs. I created the background with two of the stamps and black ink. The ovals are die cut from my Nestabilities dies and inked with Real Red.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

A Perfect Pair (FTC #97)

This is my third post for the Fairy Tale Challenge blog. I'm having so much fun joining in their challenges and hopefully you will join in too. :) (SORRY this is late. I am having computer problems. If anyone has any advice about a good personal computer (PC or MAC doesn't matter), please give it to me.)

Our new challenge is Sun, Beach, and Sea.

I used a stamp set that I don't know the name of, or even where I got it, but it came in its own pouch, like the plastic pencil pouches used in school. If anyone knows the maker, please share with me. I colored the image up using my Prismacolor pencils. The color combo came from a challenge **** but I'm too late to enter because of my computer's failure. I couldn't find my sentiment 'the perfect pair' so I haven't added it yet. I figured it would show up as soon as I posted this. :) The embossing folder is Cuttlebug and the die cut is Shapeabilities. I used my corner rounder on the mats below my image and the card base.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Puff, the Magic Dragon (GD Gig #6)

I was asked to join the Cardz 4 Guyz team for the month of August. Super excited! Cards for men challenge me in a way that I really like and it tends to get my creative juices flowing. Thanks for having me, Cardz 4 Guyz!!

I hope you'll come over and join us for our 'A Song Title' Challenge.

I chose Puff the Magic Dragon as my song. :) This is for our little cousin who turns three this month. I think it turned into a perfect little boy birthday card. This image is from Eureka Rubber Stamps. I colored him up with my Prismacolor pencils; I love the red and turquoise together. You can't tell in the pictures (I plan to try and take better ones tomorrow) but I am practicing coloring 'white'. The cardstock is Stampin' Up's Sahara Sand and Real Red. The sentiment is stamped in Real Red ink from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set and die cut with the corresponding dies. The glittered number is Thickers. The embossing folder is Tim Holtz and here's a hint...it took almost a quarter inch off the length of my card. This was the first time I have used it (yes, I have been hoarding it :P) and I'll know now to leave some room for shrinkage.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Puppy Love (PIO31)

This week, All Dressed Up is sponsoring our
'Faux or Real Stitching' challenge over at the Pile It On Challenge Blog!

All Dressed Up is offering our winner TWO digital products! WOW!

Thank you so much, All Dresses Up!!

Isn't this digi the cutest? Love it. :) I'm very fond of All Dressed Up in general but this pup gets me every time. This is a freebie over on All Dressed Up's challenge blog. They are so generous with their images!

I colored him up with my Prismacolors (the shading on my white areas look better than in these pictures). After I diecut my image, I added faux stitching around the edge. On my panel, I added real stitching. This was my first to do the real thing and I love the texture it gives my card. The mats are Stampin' Up's Real Red and the designer paper is from a Black and White paper pack I got from Hobby Lobby. I Glossy Accent-ed his nose and a couple random polka dots.

This is for a friend that just got a new puppy so I will add a gift card inside and my own little note.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Crappy Day (SACC68)

This week Sister Act is offering our randomly selected winner a special prize package. :)

My grandmother went in for a regular colonoscopy and they ended up perforating her colon. She had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery to repair the damage. She isn't out of the woods yet but is holding steady so far. I plan to send this card in hopes of bringing her some humor. If you are the praying kind, please add her to your list. Thanks.

This is a set I have used before by Unity Stamp Company. It's so fun and will hopefully bring a smile to my grandmother's face. I used my Prismacolor pencils and Memento Tuxedo Black ink, as well as Real Red cardstock. Easy peasy.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.
