Make-a-Card Monday: BFF's Birthday

I stamped Lawn Fawn's Woodgrain stamp in Chocolate Chip onto Neenah's Desert Storm cardstock. I diecut the hearts with a Nestabilities set. The sentiments are inked in Real Red. Then I popped up my wood and wrapped red twine around several times.

On the inside. I stamped my sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Real Red ink.

Here and Now (CIC267)

Come join us at Cupcake Inspirations for our new challenge!

My Creative Time is sponsoring our challenge this week.

They are offering one of their featured stamp sets to our randomly chosen winner. Wow!

Thank you so much, My Creative Time!

This week our challenge is to CELEBRATE! (can be ANY celebration).

Happy 4th! Cupcakes from William Sonoma

I got to get creative with the And Then Some set. So freakin' adorable.

I started with my colors because I knew I wanted to go with red, white, and blue since Fourth of July is this week. The card is leaning towards nautical but I'm really into that right now so I'm not surprised. :) This card could really be celebrating anything with this perfect sentiment but I think it will make it's way to my husband for our anniversary on the 12th.

I stamped all my images in Versamark and embossed them in Sterling Silver powder from Stampin' Up. My card base is Real Red and I created my on stripes with white. The blue is Night of Navy (this has to be one of my absolute favorites right now).

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

And I missed one.

Last Father's Day card for this year, I think. Forgot to share this one that I made for my dad.

This card is 9 by 4 inches and fits into a business envelope. I used Recollections Comic Hero paper stack. I love this image from 'From the Heart' called Super BirdBrain. I colored him with my Prismacolor pencils. Wouldn't he make a great birthday card for a boy as well? I diecut a bunch of the papers with my Nestabilities circle dies and layered them together. Took WAY too much time getting those "right". :)

On the inside, I used a piece of the paper stack that contained lots of different sized boxes like this. I thought this one went perfectly.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Dad's Retirement (SACC63)

This week Bugaboo is generously sponsoring our challenge.

Thank you so much for your support, Bugaboo!

So, this card ended up much more plain than I intended. I think I should have added a layer under everything but it's a little late now. No worries, because my dad is going to love it regardless. :) He retires next week and is beyond excited.

I used 'Gus Fishing' and he's perfect for my dad. There's no resemblance between the two but the sentiment is perfect. I colored him with my Prismacolor pencils and distressed the edges of my image and the mat. My card base is Sahara Sand and my mats are Kraft. I added Glossy Accents to his glasses.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Make-a-Card Monday: Wear Sunscreen!

I was really inspired by the color challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations this week. This card is for my blond on the first 'real' day of summer, June 21st. I made another for my brunette that I will share later. :)

I used this Wags N Whiskers 'Water Babe' image with DCWV Baby Girl stack. This paper is great for all sorts of things...not just baby girls. I colored my image up with Prismacolor pencils and added Glossy Accents to her goggles. I created my own sentiment with glitter letters and added the rhinestones and ribbon from my stash.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you healthy and happy.

Thank you so much, Deasy Designs!

This week our color challenge is to use Clover, Lime, and Rose.

Flower Cupcakes by Taartjes van An
Our team got to work with 'Magic Carnival' ...

How much fun is this set?? I couldn't resist using most of the images and creating my first pop-up box card. :) This is for my Goddaughter who will be four next month.

This is one of my all time favorite color combos! The two different greens with the pink just makes me happy. :) I accented with my silver gel pen. The glitter letter stickers, I've had forever and don't know where they came from. I'm bummed about that as I have used them on lots of my projects lately and I will miss them when they are gone. I colored up all my images with my Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut everything, and adhered using different methods to create even more dimension. The paper is DCWV's Baby Girl Stack.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

READING... (PIO25)

is the only thing you should do by the book.

This week, Oddball Art is sponsoring our
'CUTE' challenge over at the Pile It On Challenge Blog!

Oddball Art is offering our winner THREE single digital images! WOW!

Thank you so much, Oddball Art!!

Oddball Art by Lizzy Love: Growing up a child of the 80's, pop rocks princess, with an extreme fondness for anything candy coated, Kawaii Kitten & Ziggy Stardust, all of which had a major influence in the work that I am creating today. I employ many different mediums when I create, anything from mixed media painting to sewing with many different textiles, the end result always being the same; A whimsical dream world filled with big eyed beauties, creepy little cuties and quirky monsters of all shapes and sizes.

Oddball Art as has a challenge blog that you can find HERE.

I made this card for a mommy friend who is, with the assistance of her son, hosting a summer long book club for some of our little school buddies. It's going to be super fun for the kids. :) I plan to give this as a thank you along with a bookmark I'll post later.

I colored up my image with my Prismacolor and you can see my tutorial regarding 'stacking' this image HERE. The designer papers are The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) Black and White paper pack and the base is Real Red from Stampin' Up.

On the inside, I used more of the same paper, which is very thin. The picture makes the paper look wrinkled but it's really not that noticeable. I embossed the sentiment from MFT's Bookmark Basics with Versamark and black embossing powder from Stampin' Up.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

This week Di's Digis is generously sponsoring our challenge.

Thank you so much for your support, Di's Digis!

This image, 'Late Clock' is a freebie on the Beyond the Fringe blog. She has loads of freebies and you should go check her out.

After I printed my image out I fussy cut around it and colored up the hands of the clock with my silver gel pen. I die cut a Real Red circle from my Nestabilities and popped it up on dimensionals. Easy-peasy.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Tuesday Tutorial #1

So, I'm going to I'm going to give this tutorial thing a go. I don't really do much that isn't already out there but I thought I would share how I "stack" my images because I do have a little secret I think others might like to use.

This image is from OddBall Art and you can see their BLOG here and their SHOP here.

1. I figure out how many layers I will end up with. Then I print/stamp out that many of the image (make sure it's the same size; I cut-and-paste after I size my first image...don't worry about this if it's not a digital stamp).

2. I color up my first image, keeping out the colors (pencils, markers, etc.) I use so that I don't forget and color the other images wrong by mistake.

3. Label the images and color the coordinating parts.

4. Cut out carefully and ink your edges (if applicable). *Note: I did not ink my edges for the tutorial so that you could see better. I will ink them before using this element on my project.*

5. I use my scraps (notice it's my notes this time) to punch out small (or large) circles and make my own dimensionals. I find that I'm really picky about the thickness of store bought dimensionals, so I just glue these together until I reach the desired thickness. I also have greater control over the dimension when layering over other elements.

6. Put together your image. Let dry completely and I put mine under weight (like acrylic blocks) to promote flatness.

7. Enjoy!

Let me know if you have any questions. :)

You can see this project soon! It will be HERE when available.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

I would like to enter this tip into Top Tip Tuesday's Challenge.

Make-a-Card Monday: My Superman

I made this card for my husband (from me) for Father's Day.

Colored my image with Prismacolors and distressed the edges. The mats and card base are Stampin' Up's Real Red. The designer papers are from Recollections 'Comic Book' stack. I used my Nestabilities ovals and stars to create my diecuts.

I created my own sentiment on the inside using small glitter letters I got a million years ago from Michael's, I think.

This card measures 5.5 by 5.5 inches.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Dude. (CIC265)

Come join us at Cupcake Inspirations for our new challenge!

Lawn Fawn is sponsoring our challenge this week.

They are offering a stamp set and 6x6 paper pad of our randomly chosen winner's choice. Wow!

Thank you so much, Lawn Fawn!

This week our challenge is to use FOR THE BOYS.

Tie Cupcakes from Cupcakes Take the Cake

It's usually a challenge for me to do 'masculine' cards but lately, I've been on a roll. I loved this 'Skateboard' image from Kenny K. I colored him up with my Prismacolor pencils two times. I fussy cut one of the images and added them layered over the first image. I love the 3D look this method gives. (**I have a tutorial coming up about how I do this...)

The papers and letter stickers (Kelly Purkey) are from the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit Club for May. The hemp is from my stash. Didn't stamp the inside because I figure I can use it for a thank you or a birthday card.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.
