Glittery Heart of Hearts (SACC #46)

This is my first post for the Sister Act Card Challenge Blog. Super excited they invited me to join in the fun. All of our weekly challenges are anything goes, so join us and show off your creativity!

This week Stamp and Create is sponsoring the Sister Act Challenge Blog.  They have a variety of types of digital stamps from all different companies as well as their own. I've used one of their Wag and Whiskers digi stamps on these cards HERE. They are offering a $20 gift certificate! Wow!!

Thanks for sponsoring us, Stamp and Create!

I got an order from a purchase I made awhile ago and just had to play with my newly acquired dies. :)

I used Memory Box's Heart of Hearts die. I took a scrap piece of paper and layered and adhered American Crafts glitter ribbon in the rainbow effect I wanted. Then matted my glitter heart to Tempting Turquoise SU cardstock and placed it on my Bazzill Marshmallow card base. The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Black Onyx from SSS set 'Color and Sunshine' in the March Card Kit.

Just couldn't seem to find the right angle to get the best picture so here's three to choose from. :) Days like this are beautiful but it makes it hard to take pictures, both in- and outdoors.

Simon says, "Show your first round."

So I got my Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - March this week and I've been killin' it. You know how you just "feel" more with some than others? That's how I feel about this kit. It speaks to me and is TOTALLY me.

Anyhoo...here are some of the cards that have popped up over the last couple days. There will be more, I can assure you. :)

Make-a-Card Monday: Something New

Since there are so many 'Something New" 's happening in the lives of my friends and family that I think a series is in order. The first on the list is...

A new pregnancy:

This is a stamp I found at Unity. Love it. Simple and perfect. I stamped it in Stampin' Up's Real Red ink and tied a baby pink (can you guess what my guess for gender is?) ribbon around the whole front. I meant to Glossy Accent the hearts but I guess I failed to do so.

Thanks for looking! Hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Crazy Bird (CIC249)

Our sponsor this week is Doodle Pantry

Doodle Pantry is generously offering THREE images as our fabulous prize to our randomly drawn winner!

Thank you for sponsoring this challenge!

Here is this week's inspiration cupcake.
Our challenge is BIRDS.

Here's my take...

Sentiment or no? I really like it both ways so I guess it shouldn't matter; I just wondered what you thought. :)

This is the first time that I have actually been able to execute the 'Spotlight" technique in a way that I really like. I am loving how this came out and the bird just popping right off the card.

My card base is Stampin' Up Real Read. I also used Basic Black and White. The ovals were are cut (or traced and cut) from my Nestabilities dies.

On the inside, I used another sentiment from Doodle Pantry that came with this set and matted it on the basic black. I might write with a white pen just to make my words stand out even though I think you will be able to see black ink just fine.

Please come join us!!

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

It's the weekend, y'all...

Man, Whimsie Doodles has one of the best assortments of fun (and funny) digi stamps. I can image giving this to any of the males in my life; from family members to the kiddos' little friends to Husband's friends or co-workers. So versatile. :)

I colored my little gnome up with my Prismacolor Pencils and popped him up on YoYo Yellow cardstock. Used my SU Window Punch and added the sentiment with Real Read. Simple but, for a guy, I think it's perfect. :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Another Hot Chick...

This is the complete opposite of this HOT CHICK. :) And can I just update you by saying that Husband totally got me by saying that his assistant opened his mail. I nearly died and definitely turned 7 shades of red. He was joking (thank goodness) but he still got me good there for a few minutes.

This is a From the Heart digi stamp, Birthday Candle Birdbrain and I love it. It comes with 16 sentiments! SIXTEEN!!

I colored her up with my, wait for it...Prismacolor Pencils. Surprised? :) I matted the image on Stampin' Up Green Galore cardstock and rounded the corners with my 1/4 inch corner rounder. I used DCWV's The Birthday Wishes Stack. All of the papers are smooth and some are iridescent (the green chevron I used for example). On the inside, I used my Nestabilities to scallop the edges around my sentiment and then used the same papers in a different arrangement. My card base is Kraft cardstock.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Make-a-Card Monday: Lacy Sunshine

Better late (in the night) than never... So this is one of my first Make-a-Card posts for the year. I've really dropped the ball on these. I'm trying to get better. Thanks for bearing with me. :)

I created this card using a Lacy Sunshine digi stamp. This is the first time I've worked with a Lacy Sunshine image though I have coveted them for a while now. I colored her up with my Prismacolor pencils. I thought it would be a fun change to put her in a blue dress, matching the blue paper, instead of the customary pinks and reds.

I started with a 5.5 by 5.5 Sahara Sand card base. All my Crate Paper's Paper Heart Collection pieces and die cuts are matted on Raspberry Ripple. I used buttons that I got in the Michael's dollar aisle years ago and embroidery floss from Martha Stewart. (I'm such a hoarder.) I even pulled out my Walnut Stain distress ink that I haven't used in forever; didn't realize how much I missed it. :) Haven't decided yet if I want to add a white die cut circle to the inside to stamp my sentiment and write on...do you think that blue paper is neutral enough to write a note on?

Thanks for looking! Hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Our sponsor this week is The Paper Nest Dolls

The Paper Nest Dolls are generously offering a $25 gift certificate (WOW!!!) as our fabulous prize to our randomly drawn winner!

Thank you for sponsoring this challenge!

Here's is this week's inspiration cupcake.
Our color challenge is to use petal, poppy, and pool.

Here's my take...

I absolutely love these colors together! It's one of my favorite combinations. I used Stampin' Up Sahara Sand (card front), Real Red, Pink Pirouette, and Tempting Turquoise. I colored 'Making Valentines Avery' with my Prismacolor Pencils. The twine is from a Martha Stewart pack I got at Tuesday Morning a million years ago. I embossed my Real Red tag with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Please come join us!

Love is in the air...

...so don't choke on it. :)

Happy day of LOVE, everyone! Hope this finds you doing something you love with someone you love.

I made a card for Husband. I don't know why but fairly recently I started calling him "my person". I will just look at him and say, "You're my person." So how cool was it that I found this stamp set, Cupid's Arrows by Cas-aul Friday Stamps? It had to be mine. Be mine...get it? Ha! *(I sent THIS ONE to his office via USPS. I'm sneaky like that.)*

I used Stampin' Up's Night of Navy ink and paper to mat my front and stamp my sentiments. The rest was done with the dies. I used SU cardstock in Night of Navy, Brilliant Blue, not SU, Tempting Turquoise, and Bashful Blue.

The Cas-ual Friday dies cut like a dream. The stamps are that good too. This my first time creating with this set (and Cas-ual Friday sets in general) and I have to say that I will definitely be back.

You saw THESE CARDS I made cards for the girls (we gave them before school). I also made the girls a card to put in their lunch box. Love to surprise them with stuff like this. Again with the sneaky. :)

All of my pinks are Stampin' Up; Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Pretty in Pink, ?, Melon Mambo, Real Red, and Rose Red. I think that's the order. It was hard keeping up with all the colors and names; little pieces were flying everywhere. :) I used the large chevron punch. The letters are Kelly Purkey and the gems are iCrystal. I matted the front on Pretty in Pink and then attached it to a Basic Gray card base.

These were my kids' Valentine's. I punched a hole above and below their fists and stuck a sucker through. The note on the back says "I'm a sucker for you. Happy Valentine's Day". We did these a couple years ago and the girls loved it. I had to help L out a bit. :)

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Naughty or Nice?

I'll start with the nice. ;)

I made these cards for the girls to give them before school on Friday (Valentine's Day, in case you didn't know).

For my blond...

For my brunette...

I used a Whimsie Doodles digi called 'Heart Strings' as well as their card sketch. I used a Kraft card base and Crate Paper Love Notes. I used a Nestabilities heart die as well as Stampin' Up's little heart punch. I added Christmas Red Stickles because they're my favorite. :) On the inside, I stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink (smallest hearts are Real Red cardstock) using Stampin' Up Teeny Tiny Sentiments along with a few more punched hearts.

Now, for the naughty. *wink* Those of you who have followed me for a while, or know me in real life, know that this is not the kind of image I usually gravitate towards. But when I won 3 digital images from The Stamping Chef, I couldn't resist getting a little racy. And being from Texas, I just had to get the stereotypical 'cowgirl'; because we all wear our cowboy hats and boots everywhere. Ha!

For Husband...

Like I said before, the image is from The Stamping Chef and I colored her up using Prismacolors pencils. You can't really tell but I used the Christnas Red Stickles on the heart. The paper is from Crate Paper's Love Notes collection and the 'XO' stamp is from Simon Says Stamp 'Big Holiday Wishes' and embossed with white embossing powder. The inside is the same as above.

Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

Love from the Mom in Me (CIC247)

Our sponsor this week is A Day for Daisies

A Day for Daisies is generously offering a $12 gift certificate (that's THREE images!!) as our fabulous prize to our randomly drawn winner!

Thank you for sponsoring this challenge!

Here's is this week's inspiration cupcake.
Our challenge is LOVE.

Lover's Day Cupcakes by Juliana Morgado

Here's my take...

I had to use this image 'Book Time' when I saw it because there is nothing like loving my kids. I choose to love my husband, and I do love him so very much, but I don't have a choice when it comes to my kids. They get my love whether they want it or not. :)

I used Stampin' Up Sahara Sand card base and Real Red layer. I colored my image with my Prismacolor Pencils. The 'love' stamp is from that same un-named set. I know, I know! I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of the packaging (and for not using it sooner.). The 'you & me' is from an October Afternoon set that has the owl in it. Can't seem to find the name of this one anywhere either. Arg. I stamped both sentiments in Versamark and clear embossed them to give some shine.

Thanks for looking! Hope this finds you happy and healthy.
