I have the wonderful opportunity the join the talented Design Team over at
Send a Smile 4 Kids this week.
Here's a little bit about this awesome group and what they do.
Send A Smile 4 Kids is a charitable blog created for the purpose of collecting donated handmade cards to be distributed to children while they are inpatient at Children’s Hospitals. Currently we are donating them to the Children’s Hospitals in Neenah and Milwaukee, WI, University of Iowa Children's Hospital, Iowa City, IA, Blank Children's Hospital, Des Moines, IA, Sandford Children's Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD, and to the B.C. Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, in Canada. On any given day, there are many children inpatient in these hospitals so we would love to receive as many cards as you can send to cheer them and their families. The kids may also use your cards as Thank You Notes to the nurses and doctors and to give to parents or relatives on special days like birthdays or Mothers or Fathers Day. Any cards appropriate for children are welcome including any holiday (not religious specific please) and happy anyday cards. For more information, please click HERE.
The challenge is
ANYTHING GOES for kids. There are many opportunities to win, and I hope you will join me and enter a card of your own. They have three sponsors for this challenge:
WOW!! Thank you so much for sponsoring this challenge!!
Isn't this
Border Collie by Oak Pond Creations just the cutest? I'm already in the process of making another card with him (and the
Trash Cats) so stay tuned for that. :)
I colored up my dog with my Prismacolor pencils. The paper is from TPC Studio's Paws and Claws Dog. You can see the mini album these scraps came from
HERE. The Chocolate Chip card base is 5.5 inches square. The sentiment is from a Studio G dollar set I got at Michael at some point. It is stamped with Chocolate Chip ink. The veneer is from Studio Calico, I believe. This is the first time I have used wood veneers. I filled up the heart with Glossy Accents, as well as the 'woof' heart.
On the inside, I used more layers of scraps to add interest. I thought it would be cute to write the note on the orange polka dot paper. :)
Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.
