Rainbow Butterflies

Come on over and join us. :)

This week we are being sponsored by Digital Paper Craft. Thanks so much!

My best friend LT asked if I had 'any rainbow cards'. Um, hello! You know me!! When I asked why, she explained that she had a friend that was pregnant again after the death of her first baby at 2 months old. He was born at 27 weeks because both of them were sick with Fifths Disease and his little body just couldn't recover. Well, she is about to reach that week with her current pregnancy and LT just wants to give her a some encouragement.

As you some of you may already know, I did this post on Rainbow Babies a little over a year ago. This is such a beautiful but heartbreaking time. I'm so glad that I got to help LT express her feelings to her friend.

I made several cards for her to chose from, this is just the first one.

The pictures are horrible. The change in seasons is totally messing up my picture taking and I haven't quite figured out what to do about it yet. It's either too bright or too dark. So I'm sorry about that but I'm trying to fix it.

I used a Martha Stewart butterfly punched and used a bunch of scraps to create a rainbow. I did this a couple of months ago with another card in mind but it just never got made. When Lt mentioned making a rainbow card, I immediately thought of this butterfly punch. My original plan was to use rainbow rhinestones and white butterflies but these kept calling from my desk. (I will still make that other card to add to LT's choices.)

The rhinestones are from Target and Michaels dollar spots. I matted my main panel to basic black card stock and then adhered to my Neenah Solar White card base.

For the butterflies, I adhered them together with Tom's Mono Multi and the green butterfly on the bottom is adhered down completely. I fluffed the others up to create the #D effect.

I still may add a sentiment and/or rhinestones to the body of the butterfly, but that's up to LT.

Thanks so much for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
