Kit Questions

I am putting some new kits together and I have a few questions for you. I would love your feedback...

What do you look for in a kit? What things HAVE to be included for you to consider a purchase? What are the most important items to you? Do you consider loads of embellishments, fibers, flowers, and "extras" strong selling points or simply icing on the cake?

Thanks for the feedback! I greatly appreciate it!!

Angie's Swivel Clasp

I participated in Regan (@ Emora Designs) "Vintage Valentine" Swivel Clasp Swap and got the wonderful Angie (@ MeriScrapper13) for my partner!

Here's the swivel clasp she created for me using mauves, purples, and pinks. LOVE IT!!

She also made me this gorgeous pincushion! LOVE IT!!

This is the swivel clasp I sent to her. I don't think it looks very "vintage" but she likes it and that's what matters to me! :)

IRL

So I am the lucky winner of two nights with Regan (of Emora Designs) and her family because I happen to be pretty much in the middle of where they were coming from and where they were going. Woo-hoo! Though there was no crafting to be done (GASP!!), we had a great time just hanging out. :) There were four little girls to look after but lucky for us, everyone got along.

AND, the icing on the cake? Mari (of YT: mnc512) got to join us for the day! So let me rephrase that: there were 6 little girls to look after but lucky for us, everyone got along! :)

Here's the photographic evidence:

If we look tired, it's because we are! You try chasing after 6 kids all day! Plus, what you don't see is two or three of them breaking down in the floor in front of us. :)

Dearest Regan and Mari (and their families) - Thank you so much for spending the day with me! I had a great time and I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship! Love, Alycia

MIA

So, I have had the holidays that just wouldn't go away...in the best possible way, of course! After all the hub-bub of the actual holidays, I have had guests until early January and it's taken until now to really get back into the swing of things.

As soon as I would get some momentum, something would stop me. For example, my husband got into an accident (everyone is OK) and so started the insurance (which has actually been SO easy; go Progressive!) and rental car stuff. Then I had to spend two different days while my kids were in school, and usually the time I would spend on crafting and such, at the dealership getting a new set of keys because mine were lost over the holidays. (That's a WHOLE other stressful story!)

Anyhoo, I feel the momentum picking back up and the swing gaining some speed so I am feeling better. :) I have some new kits that will soon be up and some projects that are close to completion to share as well.

Thanks for hanging in with me. I truly appreciate it!!

Regan's Gift

Regan and I decided to swap swivel clasps and I just opened hers. It's very beautiful and no words will do it justice. My pictures don't do it justice either but I must try. :)

She added beaded charms, including beads that are "crackled", fuzzy (the light pink one), crackled, and crystal. She used lots of buttons and tulle...love them! Regan UTEEd (I think) a flower and put an eyelet through the center, making it a charm. How cool is that? She added a key, locket, and journey (Tim Holtz) charms. The fragment charms have my girls names and their meanings on them; so sweet!!

I love it, Regan. I absolutely love it. It's going on the tree and when we take it down I will have to decide where to display it then. I am already planning a very special mini for this but I have a feeling that it will take awhile to get this mini completed. It needs to be super special to carry off this swivel clasp! :)

I have to add that she filled my box with goodies! Prima, and paper, and charms, oh my!!
