Make-a-Card Monday: Support the Girls

In case you didn't know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Us ladies need to stick together and remind each other to be diligent in our self breast checks and general doctor checkups as well. So if you haven't done so already, check yourself and let's all stay healthy.

If you have been following me for any length of time, you know about my mom's best friend, T. Her breast cancer spread to her lungs and liver. She spent time with friends and family in a hospice facility. Though I hadn't been to see her, I could tell how strong she was in the face of this situation by what my mom told me. T lost her fight on Thursday morning. What an amazing woman she was, and I wish I had had the chance to get to know her better. These cards are dedicated to her, and all those who have fought, or are fighting, this fight.

All of the images on this card are from the Crafty Arts Clear Art Stamps 'Support the Girls' stamp set. I colored my pinup girl using my Prismacolor pencils. I added 'Fruit Punch' Stickles to the ribbon. The sentiment on the inside is from Unity. Love it. The card is made with Pretty in Pink cardstock from Stampin' Up and I used the word stamp from the same set and the matching ink to create a subtle background. I entered this card in the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge #107.

This image is from the internet and if you look closely you can totally tell. :) But I needed the right pair of boxing gloves and these fit the bill. I colored them using my Prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut the image out before popping it up on the same image. The sentiment is from Unity (stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink) and the little ribbon is from the 'Support the Girls' set from above (stamped in Pretty in Pink ink). I used the 'Fruit Punch" Stickles again as well. The cardstock is Stampin' Up Pretty in Pink.

This is a VERY simple card using a sentiment from Unity and the ribbon from 'Support the Girls', both stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used 'Fruit Punch' Stickles after coloring my ribbon with Prismacolors.

Take care of yourselves, Ladies. Thanks for looking. I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

P.S. Sorry for the stinky pictures. There was no sun today.
