I am well aware that St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and, being half Irish myself (maiden name of McCormick), I do recognize it by wearing the customary green. But when it comes to actually sending out cards for the day, not so much. I have close friends that have a St. Patrick's wedding anniversary (which is made funnier by the fact that the husband is from Ireland) and so I will be making them a card in celebration. The coolest part about this day this year is that Irishman's mom is in town...from IRELAND! So I'm going to go all out for her. All that being said, that is not this card. :)
I made this card with St. Patrick's in mind but subtly. I feel like I could send this next week or a month from now and it would be okay either way.
I used an image from ArtbyMarin called Fashionista. Love her. I colored her using both Copics and Prismacolor pencils. Shakin' things up a bit. :) I fussy cut her out and added her back on my Nestabilities oval dies cut in white and Green Galore. The embroidery floss is from Terri's stash and I combined all three greens to create the bow. I used Green Galore ink to stamp the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp 'Card Exchanging Friends' set. I continued the clover on the inside. Didn't want to go overly St. Patrick's Day but the card is about being lucky.
Thanks for looking! I hope this finds you happy and healthy.

ReplyDeleteYour coloring is fantastic! I enjoyed the story of the Irish wedding anniversary. I work in a nursing home. One of the couples there got married on St. Patrick's Day (many years ago). They figured they wouldn't have to do much for a reception because everyone would already be partying anyway. Good plan! People are so funny! Thanks for entering the challenge at 3 Girl JAM, Julie Odil, DT member

Hey girl! Beautiful card! Great coloring! Glad you played along with us at The Pink Elephant Challenge this week! Glad to find a fellow "Irishgirl" like myself --- half Irish but not big into Irish card making! lol I do like the green beer though. Our neighbors have an annual St Paddy's dinner party which is always lots of fun. Have a great weekend! ~ Nance
